Jamie McConville - Managing Director - Tutor/Assessor

Jamie has worked as an education professional for over fifteen years since leaving the Royal Engineers and has a vast amount of experience as a teacher, trainer and coach having worked as a Homeless Programmes Manager for a Charity supporting substance misuse recovery across London, delivering Youth Engagement projects in Kent, Teaching GSCE Mathematics and as the Group Head of Curriculum, Innovation and Sport for a Leading Secondary School, FE and HE Provider in Kent.

His expertise lies in combining Curriculum subjects within Woodland and Water based Outdoor Adventurous Activities for which he has over 20 years experience, having taught and coached in the UK, France, Kenya and Canada; Jamie is a passionate individual looking to share his knowledge and creativity through an alternative education provision.


John Knight - Tutor/Assessor

John has over 30 years of full-time youth work experience with young people from a variety of backgrounds and, most recently, he was the Youth Hub Delivery Manager for Kent County Council.

As a qualified Basic Expedition Leader, Canoe Coach and a Volunteer Search Technician for Kent Search and Rescue, John is the perfect lead for the delivery of the Duke of Edinburgh Award provision as a trained leader, supervisor and assessor.

With a Diploma in Management Studies, a PTLLS teaching qualification and his Assessor award, John is a fantastic addition to our team.


Michael Anderson-Jones - Director - Tutor

Michael is an experienced Bushcraft professional and is qualified to Level 4 in both Advanced Bushcraft and Woodland Management for Conservation and Recreational Purpose.

He has a passion for Bushcraft and anything outdoors, particularly in the woods and is keen to share his knowledge and understanding with others, helping people to further their learning and overcome personal challenges, by showing them what the great outdoors has to offer. 


Joanne McConville - Director - Head of Student Services

Upon achieving a BSc (Hons) in Development Studies, Jo completed a voluntary placement in Brasil, working with physically and mentally underprivileged young people. This experience led to Jo undertaking a Diploma in Mental Health Nursing, which she completed in 2005, before starting her first position with Kent and Medway Partnership Trust (NHS), a medium forensic secure unit, achieving the position of 'Team Leader,' within her first year. This role involved working with clients from acute through to rehabilitation services, with the aim of reintegrating them back into the local community.

After three years, Jo moved into the field of 'Assertive Outreach,' within the community services team, working with chronic, severe and enduring mental health clients and their families. Within this role, Jo was fortunate enough to work with a 17-year-old and their family, which sparked her interest in supporting younger service users. From this experience, Jo successfully achieved a position with the 'Early Intervention for Psychosis Service,' undertaking specialist care coordination, liaising with multiple agencies and specialising in family work over the last eight years.


Graeme Pryke - Operations Director - Instructor

Graeme has been working with young people for the last few years, working on the fringes of outdoor and social education as a Scout Leader. He has completed all of his training through the scout leadership programme and has completed the 'Manager Training' for developing young people and Adults; culminating with him being appointed the 'Training Advisor' for Adults completing their training. 

As an active Group Scout Leader, Graeme works as part of the management team with a local Scout District, while remaining a trustee for two charities.

In a previous life, Graeme worked in businesses relating to telecoms, software, sales and business development, before becoming involved in the scouting movement. 


Rob Davies - Technical Advisor & Coach

An experienced BCU Level 3 Sea Coach who has a passion for being out on the sea but, equally enjoys being on a river or canal. Rob has paddled extensively in the South-East and various picturesque locations around the country.

Rob has had the opportunity to be coached and coach alongside some of the top coaches in the country. He is more than keen to pass this knowledge on to others, with his previous role as a paddlesport centre manager as a testimony to his lifelong development of others within paddlesport.
